The contest
The contest “Climate Change” awards three cash prizes for the implementation of the best adaptation and/or mitigation of climate change measures in schools (or Inter-School Groups) participating in the project Clima@EduMedia.
Goal
To stimulate the interest of students and of the entire school community in climate change adaptation and mitigation by supporting innovative projects to implement in the respective schools (or Inter-School Groups).
Who can apply
Groups of students and teachers of the 3rd cycle of basic education (middle school) and of the secondary education (high school), from schools (and Inter-School Groups) participating in the project Clima@EduMedia.
Award categories
The contest has three award categories:
Category A – Adaptation (€30.000) – Can apply all projects that exclusively propose adaptation measures to the effects of climate change, observed and / or forecasted for the future. Projects must plan interventions that help the school (or Inter-School Groups) to deal with the negative effects of climate change, which cannot be avoided, and / or exploit beneficial opportunities created by climate change.
Category B – Mitigation (€30.000) – Can apply all projects that exclusively propose measures for schools (or Inter-School Groups) that aim to contribute to stabilising atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gas (GHG).
Category C – Climate Change (€40.000) – Can apply all projects that simultaneously propose climate change adaptation and mitigation measures, articulately, aimed at the school (or Inter-School Groups).
How to apply
Submission of project proposals to the contest “Climate Change” must be made by a Coordinator, in agreement with the School Board, by filling out the Application Form and sending the information requested in the regulation and form (both documents are available in the “documents” section).
