Clima@EduMedia
Clima@EduMedia
Published on the 19th of April, 2017
The Faculty of Sciences of Porto University hosts, on Thursday, 27th April, from 2.30 p.m., the closing ceremony of Clima@EduMedia project. The session is open to the public.
The Auditorium -120 of the Department of Geosciences, Environment and Spatial Planning (FC3 Building) hosts the event where the main results of the project will be presented as well as the climate change adaptation and/or mitigation measures implemented by the winking schools of the "Climate change"contest.
Besides the representatives of the schools involved and the promoters of the project, the session will be attended by experts in the areas of environmental education, media education, climate change, among others, for a debate about these issues.
Will be also launched a new Clima@EduMedia product: an open access platform with contents that result from the combination of the various educational materials produced throughout the project.
For over two years, Clima@EduMedia involved more than 2,000 students and 1,000 teachers from Middle and Secondary Schools across the country in their activities. Some of the main activities of the project were: a Massive Open Online Course about "Climate change in school media"; live training for students on journalistic production about climate change; a series of climate change conferences broadcasted via livestreaming; and the "Climate Change" schools competition, which invested € 100,000 in the best proposals for adaptation and/or mitigation of climate change presented by the participating schools.
