Clima@EduMedia was officially presented on December 9th, 2014, in the Main Amphitheatre of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities of the University of Porto. The session was led by José Azevedo, project coordinator and CETAC.MEDIA researcher, with contributions by António Guerner, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto.
The event was attended by media representatives from the 27 educational institutions participating in the project as well as Pedro Baptista, from the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA – Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente), and Isabel Martins and Nuno Regadas, from the New Technologies in Education Unit of the University of Porto, who are also collaborating on Clima@EduMedia.
Platforms “Sapo Campus” and “RTP Ensina”, with which the project has established a partnership, presented their respective projects and added value that comes from this collaborative work for Clima@EduMedia.
José Azevedo presented the objectives of the project, stressing that the challenge of Clima@EduMedia is not only to “develop interesting media content on climate change, but also to enable strategies where students can learn through the production process itself.”
The session allowed teachers to present media projects from their respective educational institutions and, at the end of the session, the project’s schedule and work plan were discussed, and the audience was encouraged to make new suggestions.
