Inter-School Group of Albergaria-a-Velha
Canalb is a television channel for the web, created by the 3rd year students of the Multimedia Technician professional education course, in the academic year of 2013/2014. The contents produced display information about internal school events and the region of Albergaria-a-Velha. The newspaper serves as a showcase of the quality and importance of the professional education provided by the school. This allows disseminating the best the county has to offer. The project EscolaTV was born in the academic year 2009/2010. It aims at issuing weekly information on the planning of activities within the Inter-School Group of Búzio for the educational community of Vale de Cambra. The classic programming schedule includes Livros Soltos (Loose Books), Flash de Leitura (Flash Reading), Webidei@s (Webide@s) and Dialetos, Línguas e Linguajares (Dialects, Languages and Vernaculars). Communication Club was the result of the GFA-tu-publicas | criar, aprender, publicar e divulgar com TIC (GFA-you-publish | to create, to learn, to publish and to make public with ICT) project. It was one of the 100 projects approved in February 2011 by the initiative Aprender e Inovar com TIC (To learn and to innovate with ICT), promoted by the Ministry of Education through the Directorate General of Innovation and Curricular Development. The project is directed to the school and educational community and aims to use ICT to share and produce digital educational resources produced by students and faculty. Elementary-Middle School Prof. Dr. Aníbal Cavaco Silva
The Elementary-Middle School Prof. Dr. Aníbal Cavaco Silva, in Boliqueime, belongs to the Inter-School Group Eng.º Duarte Pacheco de Loulé. It has created and has been developing for several years now the Rádio Escola (School Radio), Jornal Escolar (School Newspaper), and Boletins Planeta-Verde (Green-Planet Bulletins), from the project Eco-Escolas (Eco-Schools). The starting point of School Radio was in the academic year 2006/2007 by a teacher with links to Antena 1 Algarve (Antenna 1 Algarve), who transmitted her knowledge to other colleagues. These, in turn, gave continuity to the project. Activities, information, interviews, contests and music are presented during breaks. Inter-School Group of Lixa
Geopalavras (Geowords) is a multifaceted web project, which involves students from all academic years of High School of Lixa. In its orbit, two YouTube and Vimeo channels were created that show hundreds of videos on the various initiatives of Geopalavras and promoted contests. For instance, the contest Támal – manifesta-te por uma causa (It’s wrong – stand up for a cause) and, most recently, the monthly programme of expressions Tópamisto (Checkthisout) are worth mentioning. Geopalavras also dwells in the world of photography, providing coverage of the schools of the Inter-School Group with 360º photographs and other similar techniques. The Image and Communication Office (GIC – Gabinete de Imagem e Comunicação) results from the combination of the projects Calazans TV, Clube de Jornalismo (Journalism Club), newspaper Ponto & Vírgula (Semicolon newspaper), Clube de Informática (Computer Club), Gabinete de Imagem (Image Office) together with Espaço Memória (Memory Space) and Rádio Calazans (Calazans Radio). The GIC’s goal is to publicise the Education Project of ISG of Marinha Grande, as well as the media productions of members from the school community. This gives them a social meaning. Existing for several years, Diogo de Macedo High School’s newspaper – Face ao Douro (In the face of Douro) – is part of the students’ school work and school life. It operates as an integral part of the active life of students, and it mirrors the school itself. It aims to develop the critical and reflective thinking of members of the school community, as well as forms of critical and photographic expression among students. Escolaglobal®
Jornal Escolar ABC (School Newspaper ABC) emerged from the need to expand the access to information on school activities to the whole school community, maintaining an educational perspective. ABC discloses inclusive projects, such as ECOatitude (ECOAttitude) and Experimentar Ciência (To try out Science), with students from pre-school education up to secondary education as target-audience. The paper aims to provide all those involved (students and faculty) training relevant to the critical use of media and the communication of undertaken activities. The Inter-School Group Fernando Casimiro Pereira da Silva has been working regularly with school media for nearly six years. This work began with teacher training in the areas of video editing and podcasting, and afterwards created a school radio. Last year, it also supported the creation of a television channel, MEO Kanal, a Facebook page and a YouTube channel. Currently, it has a Communication Group responsible for the organisation of different projects in the area. Recently it has also launched a newsletter and it is creating a webpage for the group. Pequeno Ardina (Little Paperboy) is the name of the ISG’s newspaper. Inter-School Group of Infias-Vizela
The school newspaper Pau de Giz (Stick of Chalk) first emerged in July 2005, the first year of the ISG of Infias-Vizela. It had only a single number published in multi-copied A4 format. It was later revived in the school year 2009/2010. It is supported by teachers and students from pre-school to 12th grade. This media contributes to the creation, in school, of an individual cultural identity, and a space dedicated to information and training of the whole educational community. In the first year of its reissue, the newspaper came 3rd in the National Contest of School Newspapers, which was promoted by the Newspaper Público (Public). Inter-School Group of Cister
The newspaper Canto Quarto (Fourth Canto) belongs to the ISG of Cister in Alcobaça, and it is organized by the teacher José Bastos. It has the support of students from preschool to 12th grade, together with all the faculty and staff of the Inter-School Group. The media’s name is a reference to the Canto IV of Os Lusíadas (The Lusiads), which depicts the myth of Inês de Castro and the most important event taking place nearby the school, namely the battle of Aljubarrota. Olhar(ES) (Look(S)) is the name of the Dr. João Manuel da Costa Delgado’s High School newspaper. This school is the administrative centre of the ISG of Lourinhã. This media promotes institutional information produced by the school’s students and faculty, as well as projects and school and extra-school activities. A website, a bulletin and a Facebook page are the main means of communication used by the school. Middle School António Alves de Amorim
The name of the newspaper O Rolhinhas (The Little Cork) refers to the cork tradition of Lourosa – “Cork Capital City”. At the moment, this media has about 16 student collaborators from several academic years. The newspaper is a member of the Eco-Schools Internal Council, participating in the annual programming of activities and collaborating closely with the Visão Ecológica (Ecological Vision) Club, responsible for implementing the Eco-Schools National Programme. The name of the newspaper Jornal do Frei (Friar’s Newspaper) is a recent project promoted by the Middle School Frei João de Vila do Conde. Since it was first issued in April 2014, this media aims at being part of the school’s identity and allowing a supplement to the students’ development process. Inter-School Group José Saramago
The newspaper Sumário (Summary) has been published since the school year 2009/2010 and it is promoted by the ISG José Saramago. This media aims to promote curricular articulation; to value the school’s library; to expand the image of the Inter-School Group; and to strengthen institutional relations with the educational community. JÁ – Jornal do Agrupamento de Escolas de Condeixa (NOW – Newspaper of the Inter-School Group of Condeixa) is a quarterly newspaper. It will begin its 3rd year of existence with the release of its seventh issue, at the end of this 1st term. The paper is concerned with presenting thematic articles, and it aims to show the community the activities carried out by students and teachers. Inter-school group vieira de araújo
For the last three years, the school newspaper Vernária has been organised by the Journalism Club Vieira de Araujo, which consists of a group of volunteer students that work hard on the writing of content. The J3D emerged from a journalism project that has lasted for almost two decades. At first, in 1991, this project was driven by the Journalism and Tourism course. Later, in 1994, it was promoted by the Technological Course in Communication and Dissemination. It is an institutional quarterly newspaper produced by teachers and students, in order to disclose the news and the ISG’s projects. It is supported by the classes of the professional courses “Multimedia” and “Photography” and also by the Parents Association. The school media Encontro (Meeting), promoted by the ISG Francisco de Holanda, is part of the Clube de Imprensa (Press Club) project, which includes the participation of 23 high school students. The newspaper is published quarterly on paper. This media has a considerable track record of awards, more recently: 1st place (school year 2012-2013) in the contest of School Newspapers A Europa no Futuro (Europe in the Future), organized by the project PÚBLICO na Escola (PÚBLICO in School) and by the Network of School Libraries; and also the European Language Label Award 2014 assigned to another ISG’s project, but to which the newspaper Meeting contributes, being one of the primary means of promotion. O Manteiguito (The Little Butter) is a school media which aims to present the activities organised by the ISG of Manteigas, as well as the works sent by students and other members of the educational community. Inter-School Group Afonso de Albuquerque
Blogue Expressão (Expression Blog) is organised by the group Expressão (Expression). Since 1992 this group has been developing a series of activities related to the use of media in the High School Afonso de Albuquerque. The blog is edited since 2013, and presents information about the school and the Inter-School Group to which it belongs.
Inter-School Group of Resende
Magazine AEResende (ISGResende Magazine), supported by the Communication Club of the ISG of Resende, seeks to be an instrument for the discussion of topics relevant to the school community and the promotion of relations between the school and its surroundings. It is a vehicle that stimulates, in the educational process, the interest for learning by the students. Middle School Bernardim Ribeiro
In Middle School Bernardim Ribeiro (administrative centre of the Inter-School Group of Torrão), the school media is XL, Xarrama de Letras (XL, Xarrama-River of Letters). It is a newspaper printed in A4 format, 12 pages, with a circulation of 210 copies and that also has a digital version. The XL was born of the need to give voice to what was being made within the Inter-School Group. It is responsibility of the School’s Library Group in partnership with the Oficina de Escrita: Palavreando (Writing Workshop: Chattering), an extra course of the 3rd cycle (year 7 to 9). The media counts with the participation of all students of the 3rd cycle, since they regularly write for the newspaper, having, however, the concern to include other cycles of study as well. The newspaper O Gilinho (Little Gil) is published by the school’s Journalism Club and has the support of eight teachers and 26 students of the 5th, 6th and 7th grades. This media aims to promote citizenship, students’ integration, reading and writing, research skills, and the ability to organise and to sum up information of the topics discussed. Em Revista (In Review) is developed in partnership with the Association of Southeast Parishes of the Municipality of Lamego. The newspaper aims to strengthen the cooperation between the academic and educational community; to (re)discover the pleasure of reading/writing; to educate in the literacies of the areas of information, reading, writing and digital technologies; and to educate students on citizenship. The media has the support of students, teachers, non-teaching staff, parents/education carers, the educational community (municipalities, Lamego’s Library Network, Escola Segura – Safe School, Child and Youth Protection Commission, Rotarians), and others. Some of the educational areas addressed in the newspaper include: Environmental/Sustainable Development Education, Education for Health and Sexuality, Human Rights Education, Media Education, among others. |
